NUCPP CONTINUES DISCUSSION WITH LABOR SECRETARY MARTY WALSH

September 21, 2022

ATTENTION ALL PENSION WARRIORS IMPACTED BY THE SURVIVORSHIP RETROACTIVE PAY ISSUE:

If the survivorship retroactive pay issue impacts you, and you are interested in sharing your story with Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh, please email your story to the NUCPP at nucpp2020@gmail.com. Please be sure to include your phone number so that we can contact you if we need further information. Please also be sure to include the Fund that you are a part of and any specific information affecting your situation. We will forward these stories to the Secretary of Labor.

The NUCPP continues to work for all retirees and active workers. As reported in #2 NUCPP AT WORK dated 7.26.22, NUCPP Board of Directors met with Secretary of Labor, Marty Walsh on July 6, 2022. At that meeting, NUCPP VP Davey Grubbs had the opportunity to discuss the issue concerning survivorship retroactive pay with Department of Labor Secretary Marty Walsh. Although many important changes were made in the SFA Final Rules, this survivorship retroactive pay issue was not addressed. During the meeting with Secretary Walsh, he stated that he would look into the matter further.

On Labor Day, September 5, 2022, NUCPP President Ken Stribling and Treasurer Bernie Anderson attended the Labor Day Parade in Milwaukee, WI and had the opportunity to again meet with Secretary Walsh. Secretary Walsh indicated that they are still working on the issue regarding survivorship retroactive pay. He also sent a thank you to Ken and Bernie for attending the Labor Day Parade.

Again, if you are impacted by the survivorship retroactive pay issue and would like to help fight for a resolution for this issue, please share your story at nucpp2020@gmail.com. Your story will be forwarded to the Department of Labor.

Thank you for your support of the NUCPP.
