CPSF Refiles 8.12.22
August 12, 2022
Pension Warriors,
Today we received notice from CSPF that due to some of the favorable changes made in the Final Rules from the PBGC, Central States has determined that it is advantageous to withdraw our SFA Application that was filed on April 28th and refile under the new guidelines. Based on that decision, the application was withdrawn and refiled today, August 12, 2022.
As you all are aware, we have often discussed since the filing on April 28th, that it would be expected, and not uncommon or worrisome for the Application to be withdrawn and then resubmitted, especially with the favorable changes that were made in the Final Rules that were issued on August 8th.
As you can see from the Update shown from CSPF, the 120 day mark from today’s refiling is December 10th, but there is a possibility that it could be sooner for CSPF to receive the funds.
Based on this update, although this causes a slight delay as to when CSPF will receive the funds, the NUCPP Board of Directors is confident that these funds will be received in a timely manner and therefore no reason for concern. As in the past, CSPF retirees receive their full earned pensions and will continue to do so.
As we receive any updates, we will keep you updated.
Thank you for your continued support of the NUCPP.
Take Care and Stay Safe.
NUCPP Board of Directors
